CARE GUIDELINES
HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR KAEROS
All Kaeros products are carefully handcrafted in our workshop. To enjoy your leather products for a lifetime, it is important to follow a few care guidelines to avoid unnecessary wear and tear and extend the life of your accessories:
• Leather is a skin and it can stretch. Avoid overfilling your product as it may hamper the shape.
• Take extra care when wearing with light-colored garments. Richly dyed items may transfer and may leave a stain.
• Avoid exposure to any source of artificial heat or moisture as they can damage the leather. Direct sunlight can diminish the lustre of the products.
• If the product gets wet, do not rub. Instead, blot dry immediately using an absorbent, lint-free cotton cloth and leave it to dry naturally.
• Make sure to avoid any exposure to water, oils or cosmetics. They can stain the leather and damage the metal fittings.
• Take care to avoid contact with abrasive surfaces or heavily embellished clothes. They can scratch the leather.
• Try to empty your product after use to avoid warping. Once empty, you can maintain the silhouette by gently filling it with plain, acid-free tissue paper.
• Do not leave the products in direct contact with other leathers when not in use. Store the products properly in their pouch or a box. In case you no longer have the original dustbag, use a white cotton pillowcase instead. Avoid using plastic bags, they prevent good ventilation.
• Remember to air the leather goods out occasionally to remove any unwanted smells and scents.
• Before storing your product for an extended period, try to wrap hardware such as zips and hooks in tissue paper to avoid them creating any unwanted imprints on your leather.
• Make sure to stand the product on its base, hanging it up can stretch the handles. Additionally, allow the handles to stand up unimpeded to avoid cracks or bend marks.
• Take extra care with leather items you use often. Wipe away dust and spots with a soft cloth or brush. Never use a soap or solvent to clean the product.
• Do not machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron.
At Kaeros, we choose to work with leather for its natural luxurious qualities. Each product and accessory is unique, gathering its own characteristics and defining features over time. Such an exceptional material qualifies for a little nurturing and if you care for it properly, your leather will last a lifetime.
